Sage-ing While Age-ing by Shirley MacLaine
Shirley MacLaine is an accomplished actress, singer, dancer, and writer. Her newest book focuses on her latest endeavor to put the pieces of the cosmic puzzle together. While she admits that some people might think some of what she writes is “far-fetched,” she has deep convictions about everything in the book. She knows many people think she is a “kook” for many of her beliefs, but that doesn’t stop her from forging on and teaching others what her research has taught her.
Every once in awhile she will divulge some fun and interesting stories about Hollywood - like the fact that Frank Sinatra believed in reincarnation, she never had an affair with Dean Martin even though she would have liked to, and at one Hollywood party she naively dumped a large spoonful of cocaine in her coffee thinking it was sugar! To say she has led an interesting life is an understatement.
In the book MacLaine not only discusses out-of-this-world concepts, she adds facts to back them up. A big portion of the book is devoted to “star visitors” a.k.a. ETs and UFOs. She has spoken with many in the military who have backed up the notion of alien beings being on this planet with facts. She says the policy of the military is to maintain secrecy when it comes to aliens, which is what they have done, yet there are those on the inside who have leaked some info about the “visitors.” Disclosing this information would “change the very nature of how we define ourselves as humans,” she writes. In her research she learned that a former Air Force serviceman “saw documents describing the meeting between President Eisenhower and extraterrestrials.” General Douglas MacArthur, Presidents Eisenhower, Truman, and Reagan all believed aliens were and are on this planet and had said so.
Living in harmony with nature is what the desired effect of these beings is. They, according to MacLaine, are worried that humans are ruining the planet beyond repair and if not stopped, the destruction of Earth will be the end of the species. They are also “seeding” the planet with their own DNA, for whatever reason they have.
The Bible has many references to alien beings, and MacLaine shares some of them in the book. With references from the Bible as well as many cultural heritages both current and ancient, and the founding fathers of America, she manages to weave our entire history with star visitors. Colonial figures were outspoken about their beliefs, yet somehow their words are not as well known as perhaps they should be.
“Synchronicity” is discussed at length in the book. It is an experience that happens all the time, yet many of us fail to understand. It is because everything is connected. For instance, the other day I asked someone if they’ve heard anything about Charleton Heston because I hadn’t heard anything about him in a long time, and three days later he died. Also, one day I mentioned to someone that I hadn’t been to a specific location in several years and missed attending events there. Well, the next day I received an invitation to a reception there. Things like this are happening all the time. We just have to learn to tune into them.
Shirley MacLaine now calls New Mexico her home instead of Hollywood. To her it is “the Land of Enchantment, not the Land of Enhancement.” She continues to act in films, and is active with her website (shirleymaclaine.com) and will never stop searching and asking questions. Yes, she is ageing, and being older affords her the opportunity to openly discuss her beliefs. She has had an incredible life. She has slept in the sarcophagus of the King’s Chamber in the Great Pyramid of Gizeh, Egypt and in Thomas Jefferson’s bed in Monticello. As she searches for more knowledge of the universe, rest assured, she will be writing more books to enlighten the rest of us. If you think she is a “kook,” then so be it. But if you are interested in learning about star visitors, reincarnation, ghostly souls, synchronicity and other things as well as some of her own experiences, this is a great book for you. It also describes how in 2012 the solar system will align in a way it hasn’t been lined up in 26,000 years and how December 21, 2012 will be a pivotal day.
