Spring's Almost Here?
by Sals
Spring.... is it just around the corner?
The air balmy with still a touch of cool.
Soon will be done - all these winter's mourners.
With snow melted....one more cold snap or two?
When buds start peaking just above the ground.
Then Jonquils the Brave march out for the show.
Standing tall, bright and sunny....who can frown?
They tell of one last freeze to come, we know.
Gardens soon started by neighbors around,
Ready to plant radishes and lettuce.
Some cleaning old pots....others breaking ground.
Watching the buds on the trees show us....
Stretching and yawning..... warming for the run.
They are waking.... ready now to burst forth.
Leaves and flowers wanting to see the sun.
Just as soon as that wind quits from the North!
